Every year since 2002, AKIRA has showcased its newest, most
on-trend pieces in its fall runway show. The 12th annual show,
"The Last Dimension," took place at Grossinger City Autoplex.
Guests entered the last dimension at AKIRA's signature event of
the season. The party started with small bites from restaurants
such as Strings Ramen Shop, Las Palmas, The Franklin Room,
Hubbard Inn, Municipal Bar + Dining Co., ESTATE Ultra Bar,
Trophy Room, Bee & Tea, Whisk, mEAT, Umami Burger, Citizen
Bar, and 25 Degrees. The night featured performance from
BRICKHEADZ, performance art by Anna Dominguez, and live
painting by Andrew Leonardo & a resident artist from the Zhou B.
Art Center. Eventgoers had the opportunity to get outfitted in fall's
freshest looks at Akira's one-night-only pop-up shop. This year's
runway presentation, featured special guest James Maslow
("Dancing With The Stars" & "Big Time Rush") and thirty of
Chicago's top models.
A portion of the proceeds from “The Last Dimension” will benefit
an official charity partner, PAWS Chicago.
