Designer Elie Tahari made a personal appearance at Neiman Marcus
Michigan Avenue to present his Spring 2015 collection. The fashion
presentation also included a Q&A with the designer hosted by Caroline
Maguire Contemporary Fashion Director at Neiman Marcus.
A shipwrecked high-tech bohemian is the inspiration for the Elie Tahari
Spring 2015 Women's Collection. Pieces that have been weathered,
bleached by the sun, worn and tattered by sand and salt are juxtaposed with
futurist materials including mesh, leather fringe and laser cut neoprene.
At the heart of the collection are fabrics including linen, gauze and
distressed leather. Ribbon mesh sweaters, printed eyelet dresses, rustic
anorak coats and longer length midi skirts with sheer paneling are standout
pieces. Pointed snake skin slip-on's, handcrafted gladiator high heels and
raw edge sun hats complete the collection.
Pink shell, rain tree, cask, sand, deep jungle, tidal, sharkfin, wave and gust
make up the hues of the spring collection, inspired by a deserted beach with
nothing but ocean in sight.
