One of Chicago's hottest fashion showcases took place at the UIC Forum Stage when students from The International Academy of Design & Technology hosted IMAGINE '12. Emceed by Jane Monzures of Loop FM's morning show and host of Living Healthy on WGN, this student-produced exhibition showcased the multitude of design talent and production of IADT's students, in addition to highlighting unique programs at the school. Featuring an impressive array of garments by 44 student designers. This year's entertainment featured a musical performance by K.Rose, a nineteen year old phenomenal singer/dancer managed by Queen Latifah and signed to Interscope Records and Epidemic Music. She is the newest face on the music scene who's preparing for stardom.

IMAGINE '12 honored and featured a fashion installation from IADT graduate and locally acclaimed designer Horacio Nieto. Since graduating in 2004, Nieto has worked in the Chicago fashion industry and recently opened his own showroom in Pilsen. "Fashion is a great way to be creative and show yourself, but we all have to remember that it is a business as well," says Nieto. "This is not an industry for someone that does not want to work for their success." Known for his remarkable bridal and evening gowns, Nieto also specializes in women's ready to wear and men's casualwear such as trench coats and wind breakers.
